Allison - Glasgow Line Dancing Instructor

Allison – Glasgow Line Dancing Instructor

I formed Glasgow Line Dancing in November 2015 basically turning my hobby into a small business. I love what I do and thanks to Wendy Allan (Irwin) for introducing me to line dancing. I have taught various fitness classes off and on throughout my career and feel this is a great addition to my repertoire. My classes were launched on the 16th of November 2015 in Busby and at that very first session only 5 women came through the door.

These are the feet of the ladies who attended my first ever line dance class held in Busby Parish Church

Over the months the numbers have grown and I have added more classes. I will be launching further classes soon so watch this space.

I am fully qualified through BATD. I have Public Liability Insurance and PPL licensing. I am qualified First Aider (not that I will need it too often)

Other Classes and Qualifications

I decided in 2012 to retrain as a specialised fitness instructor for the older adult. After some research, I decided to look at Laterlife Training courses and Cardiac Rehabilitation. I am a qualified OTAGO Home Exercise Instructor, Postural Stability Instructor and Cardiac Rehabilitation Instructor. I have attended various CPD courses such as Osteoporosis, COPD, Mental Health and Working with Individuals with Visual Impairments. I work for East Renfrewshire Leisure and Culture teaching on their Vitality programme. I also do private work as well. I have lead exercise sessions as part of the VIOLET study for adults over 60 with visual impairments.
